Better still avoid contact with the horrid stuff in the first place. Pull it out when it first comes up in spring - before the seed balls emerge in early summer. They just stick to everything, break off and spread but ALWAYS wear gloves and long sleeves to protect yourself.
I am very sensitive to it, and skin contact even just on my wrists (if I leave a gap) gives me a burning sensation in the mouth. Horrid stuff!
