A subdural hematoma is a collection of blood in the space between the outer layer (dura) and middle layers of the covering of the brain (the meninges). It is most often caused by torn, bleeding veins on the inside of the dura as a result of a blow to the head.
The meninges are layers or covers of the brain. There are 3 meninges but only 2 ways which blood can collect: EPIDURAL, SUBDURAL, SUBARACHNOID.

The collection of blood within the meningeal layers refers to a hematoma, which can occur in the space between the meninges—specifically, the dura mater, arachnoid mater, and pia mater—surrounding the brain and spinal cord. There are different types of hematomas, such as epidural and subdural hematomas, depending on their location relative to the dura mater. These collections of blood can result from trauma, such as head injuries, and can lead to increased intracranial pressure and neurological complications if not treated promptly.
Lamina is the medical term meaning layers.

in medical terminology, the term for arranged in layers is stratified. A layer of cells is a stratum and layers would be strata.

The outer covering of the brain is called the meninges. It is made up of three layers: the dura mater, arachnoid mater, and pia mater. These layers provide protection and support for the brain and spinal cord.
The mesosphere is an atmospheric layer, which can also be considered a collection of layers. The mesosphere lies above the stratosphere but below the thermosphere, the other two "middle" layers of the atmosphere.
