I have the same question as my right ear has been in its current clogged state for almost 2weeks. It comes and goes, but I am to the point of just plain frustration. I have been trying to find research about "popping my ear" and if we can do it and how hard we can push. I have tried with a little force and it wont budge. It has almost cleared once or twice, but I am afraid of messing something up. I have noticed that when I "almost" clear my ear and dont clear it all the way it is really hard and I have to wait for longer periods of time before I can try again. I would say go to the doctor when you can. I work weird hours so its hard for me to make an appointment. Good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon.

To make your ears pop, you can try swallowing, yawning, or chewing gum. These actions help equalize the pressure in your ears, which can relieve the feeling of them being blocked.
When animals are on a plane, the change in air pressure can cause their ears to pop. This happens because the pressure inside their ears needs to equalize with the pressure outside, which can be uncomfortable for them.
