Primary care doctors treat the vast majority of shingles cases and can probably do everything you need.

A neurologist can do nerve testing if there is some doubt about the diagnosis but cannot offer any treatments that your primary care doctor cannot also give.

A pain specialist can offer more technical treatments, such as nerve blocks, if the pain is severe, chronic and not responding to medications.
