The epidural numbs the body from the waist down but doesn't cause you to go to sleep. However in some procedures, they also give you a sedating medication which wipes out all memory of the procedure and events in the OR.
A surgeon in a hospital
It will hurt to move your hip. If you experience this go see a doctor immedialetly.
If an elbow replacement is any indicator you dont see much joy for about 3 weeks.
After hip replacement surgery the patient can stay 3 to 4 days in the hospital, after that they will be release to go home if they have someone who can assist them. If they do not have assistance at home they will be sent to a rehabilitaion center.
This question should have been posed in another way, "Is there any chance of subluxation/luxation of a hip, no matter with or without hip prosthesis?"... And the answer is YES....so if you go for a total hip replacement, remember that you might unfortunately experience subluxations here too.. Sincerely, H.A.Khan
No
To help hip pain you should go to the ciropratics!☺♥☻
I had hip replacement surgery 2 years 2 1/2 months ago and my upper thigh is still numb! I was told it could be up to three years until I get the numbness to go away! I have until 2013 to look forward to finding out.
There is no set time after an epidural that you deliver. There are many factors that go into delivery. It depends on how dialated you are when you receive the epidural Also, how fast and strong your contractions are. You can be in labor for quite a while after you get your epidural. The joy is that you don't mind it so much anymore.
very rare but possible yes
Go to the chiropractor, physical therapist etc. ice it and when you sleep, put a pillow underneath the thigh of the side of the injured hip. If you sleep on your side, be sure to sleep on the injured hip to avoid gravitational pull
Go to the pool, beach, cousins house in FL,SLEEP,basketball,hip-hop dance class(yes I dance hip-hop),bikes,soccer,and finally RELAX.
