In my opinion, for us in Michigan, the hospitals lean more toward American Heart Association; but the emergency response personnel (EMT, Ski Patrol, Fire, Police) lean more toward American Red Cross. However, there is no difference in the material presented by the ARC or American Heart Association. They are both in line with the ECC 2005 guidelines (American Heart which may be the reason they are more associated with hospitals).
