The man with the largest lung capacity is a 6'5" rower who now rows for team GB and won a silver medal in the Olympics recently I can not remember his name though.

His name is peter reed, he won gold in the Olympics in the coxless four, Australia came second.

I think it is swimmers or mountaineers.

In my opinion, rowers have a VERY large lung capacity. They have the largest hearts of endurance athletes due to the stress that their body is placed in. However, I'm not sure about anaerobic athletes.

Peter Reed (British rowing) has the largest ever recorded lung capacity of any athlete, measuring at around 11.68 litres (although earlier studies suggest the capacity to be lower, at 9.4 litres, but 11.68 is perhaps an improvement)

To put this quantity into perspective, the average lung capacity of a human is approximately 6 litres, meaning Pete has an incredibly efficient aerobic system inside of him and is said to have the lung capacity equivalent to that of a small horse.
