Well, My friend, salkt has been known for many diffrent things. However i first gained intrest when my dentist said to gargle salt water after my molars were removed. To awnser your question, salt water is a natural analgesic/antibacterial. It kills germs and bacteria. Thats why people have gargled with salt water for thousands of years to fight off throat/mouth infections. It's also why wounds heal quicker after bathing in salt water.
Hope I Helped Calm the Curosity!
Sincerly,
Jessica
Making salt water to gargle for a sore throat is not a chemical change. This is because the salt can be extracted from the water.

The best time to gargle with salt water is usually in the morning or before bed, as these are times when you are less likely to eat or drink right after. Gargling with salt water can help with a sore throat, mouth ulcers, or oral hygiene.

After you eat or drink, gargle salt water, and in the Morning and at night gargle mouth wash, alcohol free...
The gargle mixture typically consists of sodium chloride (NaCl) dissolved in water (H₂O). When you mix salt in warm water, the sodium chloride dissociates into sodium ions (Na⁺) and chloride ions (Cl⁻). Thus, the primary chemical formulas involved in the mixture are NaCl for the salt and H₂O for the water.
