Because it may not be naturally flavored and uses artificial flavor, specially mint because mint artificially flavored contains alot of different chemicals to give you that same mint taste as you would get naturally, it has too much acids concentrated and a special chemical that is harmfull to the human body when you put mint in your mouth, your mouth cools and when you drink your mouth gets too cold, to get that same experience, they use a very harmful material and it starts to hurt your stomach and also gives you gas and bloating.
Maybe its just you , gum makes my stomache hurt at night.

No way! I disagree with the above answer! I have a good friend who cannot chew gum, because the juice from it makes her stomach hurt AND my step son can only chew gum until it gets really juicy and then spits it out or, he too, gets a stomach ache! I was actually looking on here to find out why when I ran across this answer! - Another answer- Well , yes it can. from what the person above said , the juices from it make your stomach . and it only makes MY stomach hurt if its eaten at night xD Chewing gum for long hours or on an empty stomach isn't good. When you chew you swallow and this prepares your intestines for digestion and when there's nothing more to digest only air and saliva fills your stomach causing your intestines to hurt from grinding 'nothing'. Try and chew for about an hour at most and give it a break or eat something before you chew again.
