Your 1995 Honda Prelude may stutter at high RPMs due to several potential issues, such as a failing ignition coil, worn spark plugs, or fuel delivery problems like a clogged fuel filter or failing fuel pump. Additionally, a malfunctioning mass airflow sensor or issues with the engine management system could disrupt the air-fuel mixture, causing stuttering. It's advisable to diagnose the issue with a scan tool to identify any error codes and perform a thorough inspection of the ignition and fuel systems.

If your Honda Prelude is only reaching 3500 RPM, it could be due to several issues. Common causes include a malfunctioning throttle position sensor, clogged fuel filter, or problems with the ignition system. Additionally, it could indicate a restriction in the exhaust system, such as a clogged catalytic converter. A thorough diagnostic check is recommended to pinpoint the exact cause.
