Really good question but I think I know why. Is someone is OCD and do something over and over, like wash their hands, or even the whole house, the worst that can happen is they will have awfully wrinkled skin. A person that has anorexia starts to disappear right before your eyes and no matter what you say or do, you can't stop them from harming themself. Even though it is something that you don't choose, it is something that you CAN choose to overcome. You just have to want to make that choice. I have pictures of my sister, 5'7' and weighing 85 pounds. She looked like something out of Etheopia. She had all sorts of resentments that she just refused to talk about and the only thing she could control was her food, so she did. I'm also happy to say that when she found work she loved, a guy who really cared for her, and good friends, all of the sudden her need to control wasn't so imporatant anymore. She is a whole lot healthier, still thin, but not starved, and happy. Good luck with whatever it is that you need to work out.
Anorexia (full name: Anorexia Nervosa) is a mental and physical disorder in which a person starves themselevs or severly restricts their calorie intake and excessively works out in order to lose weight.
Yes, there are people who have both Bulimia and Anorexia.
Yes, but no more than an average person would.
No...! :)It is a psychological. It is to do with a person's own distorted body image! There are many sites on the web that can help you understand. :)Hope this helps?!
honestly, not something attractive, if that's what you're wondering.
That is a general characteristic of anorexia.
1 / total number of people
A person with an eating disorder is usually referred to by their disorder. For example, a person with anorexia is called an anorexic. A person with bulimia is called a bulimic. A person who suffers from binge-eating or compulsive-over-eating disorder are called binge or emotional eaters.
No sane person would recommend or permit / allow anorexia.
it depends, it could be called anorexia if they don't eat at all or bulimic if they eat and then vomit. the definition of anorexia is slightly wrong though .... generly people that suffer from anorexia do eat! but what happens is they starve themselves for a few weeks and then every so often they will binge eat and the vomit after, this is the true definition of anorexia but it is possible that some people do not eat at all.
An anorexic is a person who suffers from anorexia.
You cannot "catch" anorexia. It is not an infection like a virus that can be passed on from one person to another.
