The injury would allow for the joint the muscles are attached to, to move in one direction...either only up becasue the lower muscle was damaged...or only down because the top muscle of the pair was damaged.
Contraction of smooth muscle in arterioles would lead to vasoconstriction, which would increase resistance to blood flow and subsequently increase blood pressure. Conversely, relaxation of smooth muscle in arterioles (vasodilation) would decrease resistance and lower blood pressure.
I don't see how falling would increase your vertical jump. You are risking an injury when you fall.

Typically you would use a heat pack (or hot water bottle etc) for a muscle injury. If you have pulled a muscle, hot (or cold) treatment will soothe the area
