Under the engine cover is the coil pack housing. Remove the engine cover to reveal the coil housing; this unit attaches to your spark plugs through the spark plug boots and retainers. Inside the housing are your two coils.
remove the ignition coil/module cover from top of engine. 4 bolts, if the spark plug boots adhere to the spark plugs, remove them with a wire puller or simillar. and install them on the secondary housing terminals. the boots must be installed on housing plate before instalation or you may damage the boots. remove the ignition coil housing screws 4 screws. and remove the housing, then remove the coils.
The coil is located under the pot metal engine cover on top of engine. Remove the 4 bolts that hold this cover on , then you will see the coils located in a plastic housing under this cover.
if the coil is on the distributor cap,remove cover then disconnect wires from the coil and remove coil. if coil is on engine then loosen the bolt and remove from coil mount
Remove engine cover, determine which coil is bad or better yet replace them all. Remove the electrical connection from ignition coil, remove 7/32 bolt from coil (be careful not to drop),pull coil from top of sparkplug and remove.
There are 8 bolts that hold it on. First remove the cover to the coil packs, Then the coil packs then the vallve cover,
if a 4 cylinder ,locate thermostat housing, remove 2 nuts holding coil on, then remove 2 bolts holding housing on, t-stat is in housing
First you remove the plastic engine cover on top of the valve cover. Then you remove the wires from each of the three coils, then you remove the bolt holding each coil and remove coil. Down in that hole is the spark plug, remove with socket and replace.
