We were quoted between 1,600-1,800 dollars by an eye specialist vet in Little Falls, NJ.
4/7/2010 My English Bulldog just had this surgery done. I was quoted $1000 to do one eye by one veterinarian and just had it done on both eyes for $350 at another vet. Both vets are in Southern Maryland so I'm afraid you should shop around to get the best price and care.
$2,400-$4,500
take the animal to a vet and worry about the cost later
This depends on where you live. Your Veterinarian should be able to provide you with an estimate of the cost of surgery/treatment after he/she has examined the dog and completed any diagnostics.
surgery for a dog should be at least 300.00 because some people can't afford to pay such a big bill especially their medical bills
The cost of eye surgery for a dog can vary depending on the type of surgery needed, the location, and the veterinarian performing the procedure. It can range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. It's best to consult with a veterinarian for an accurate estimate based on your dog's specific needs.
It will depend on whether or not your dog will need one for a short period of time or permanantly. The cost of buying a dog wheel is between 399 and 500 dollars, however if your dog is recuperating from a surgery or a short term illness it would be much cheaper to rent one (around 200.00).
The issue is not the initial cost of the surgery, which depending on the breed, and weight of the dog can range greatly, but rather whether the initial surgery will solve the problem or if the procedure will need to be repeated. When you have the surgery most surgeons will tell you this may have to be repeated. Also, they may need to do some distichia repair or eyelash removal to prevent the lid from scratching the eye... more money. Also, if the eyelashes continue to rub on the cornea over time you could be facing a corneal rupture or required repair. We experienced a $3000 surgery plus a second $450 surgery, plus a $450 emergency vet call due to excessive post-operative swellling with our English Bulldog. This of course excludes the meds and drops the dog needed during the whole ordeal and other vet visits. We were probably a worse case scenario, but depending on the breed and the liklihood of future problems, this can be a serious finanical issue.
Our border collie Ricky just had this op .. £743.39 on the 10/2/2011 he's doing fine and on the mend money well spent if you ask me . And yes we would recommend pet insurance as this came out of the blue .
Dog bones cost $ 10.00
Yes, but the risks involved with surgery are somewhat increased and the cost will be higher due to the extra precautions required. The exact cost of the surgery will vary depending on situation, location, etc. The vet who is going to perform the surgery is the only one who can give a reasonable estimate of costs.
Depends the place where the surgery would take place.
No one over the Internet can answer this question properly. You need to take your dog into the Veterinarian's office and get an estimate from him or her. The Vet will probably need to sedate the dog so that costs depends on the size of the animal. So there will be a charge for an office call, sedation and the actual cost of surgery to remove the growth. You should have your dog's teeth cleaned at the same time (if needed) as would not be that much more and is very important to their health.
