Many suffererers are sceptical of a psychological treatment, however many report a reduction in their pain experience, both in intensity and frequency, and learn excellent techniques for dealing with their pain. Pain is now treated in "biopsychosocial" way, as all biological, psycholgical and social issues of the pain interact which in turn effects the individual's experience of pain. I know this illness is debilitating and extremely frustrating and I don't think they have any long-term"cures" as such therefore learning to deal with chronic pain in the long-term is very beneficial. Speak to your GP or family doctor for a referral to a clinical psychologist who has extensive experience with clients with chronic pain. Many pain clinics have clin psychs working them also.
