Bupropion is as labeled Wellbutrin or Zyban. Wellbutrin is for depression. Zyban is a smoking cessation. They are the same drug just prescribed for two different ailments.
No. It only contains "bupropion" as a salt.
yes.
Yes, bupropion is the generic of wellbutrin, and they are both the xl. exactly the same. I am a pharmacist
According to a search using Drug.com's Pill Identifier, there is a round yellow tablet with the imprint 'G 2444'. That pill is bupropion HCl 150mg. Check to see if the pill has a 'G' on the opposite side. Verify this information with your doctor or pharmacist.
budeprion XL is a brand name of medication bupropion XL. Bupropion Hcl is a generic name & active ingredient present in budeprion XL, so both are same.
It is generally not recommended to combine Alteril, an over-the-counter sleep aid, with Bupropion HCL, an antidepressant and smoking cessation aid, without consulting a healthcare provider. Bupropion can affect sleep patterns and may interact with other medications. Always discuss any potential interactions or concerns with a doctor or pharmacist before mixing medications.
I think I have this straight. You were prescribed 450mg of Buprion. That is the maximum dosage for this drug. What you did with cutting pills is ok but I wouldn't do it everyday. It is not a proper way to measure your dosage.
Bupropion is a pill that can apparently make you feel better and can help you to stop smoking. I don't know if it's true, or if the uses are phycological. ~Sozzygirl
They are the same thing; buproprion always comes as buproprion hcl or occasionally buproprion hbr. The different names are essential just different brand names. So 150mg will be more effective than 100mg for weight loss. That said, only 28% of people lose significant weight on Buproprion, and most of them had recently gained weight due to depression. It is most effective as part of a controlled diet and exercise plan, because it will reduce the psychological pain of dieting by keeping your dopamine up without food, and it will give you more energy to exercise. If you aren't clinically depressed and don't change your lifestyle, the average weight loss after a year on Buproprion is 1.8lbs.
**I am neither a medical doctor nor a pharmacist** but from what I understand Bupropion SA (sustained action) and SR (sustained release) are equivalent. The "SR" designator is more commonly used, but the VA at least uses "SA" (though the label on the generic they dispense indicates "SR"). Burpropion XL and XR (extended release) indicate a different, longer acting formula. I believe it is 12-hour release for the SR vs 24-hour for the XL (could be important distinction for people who find the drug activating/sleep-disprupting).
6mg pills have to take to total 150mg.
It did me!
