Can you give a 7 year old an ibuprofen 200mg tablet?

You can access ibuprofen dosing charts for children online. Age is not the first determination for dosing. Most charts begin at 6 months of age, then proceed by weight. Checking different web sites, I did however find conflicting dose charts. When dealing with a child I tend to side with caution. Once a child reaches the weight necessary to be given 200mg of ibuprofen, its a personal choice as to what form to give. A 200mg tablet/capsule/capsule/ etc may be given if tolerated.

Please remember, "more is not necessarily better!" Recommended doses are there for a reason. Taking more than recommended can quickly become toxic and do irreparable damage to your body.

It will not hurt them.. Unless they have a serious injury like a torn rotator cuff. the pain reliever will only make it worse as the puppy will feel better.

If you mean a 2 month old baby I would call the doctor to ask before giving him/her the drug.
