Can you mix painkillers and sleeping tablets?

Always check the labels, but most over the counter sleep aids are nothing more than what amounts to Benadryl. ibuprofen is an anti inflammatory. I have always had sleep issues and have had to rely on sleeping pills and have taken the two together and been fine. But as I said always check the labels, because with many OTC drugs you never know everything that is in them. Or you could ask your pharmacist. They have computer programs that will check drug interactions.

There are over the counter sleep aid combination pills called Aleve PM. If you are taking regular Aleve and adding a prescription sleeping pill, you shouldn't have negative effects, but it is not recommended to mix Aleve PM with your prescription sleeping medication.
