Does dilmah exceptional tea contain caffeine?

The majority of the teas in the Dilmah Exceptional range contain caffiene as they originate from the Camellia Sinensis plant which produces the well known types of Black Tea and Green Tea. The caffiene is in the original plant and therefore in varying degrees in the final dry leaf and then in your cup. The level of caffeine varies depending on all sorts of factors... from the length of time you steep it for, the temperature of water you steep it in, the type of tea (i.e. Green or Black).

At the time of writing... there is one teas in the Dilmah Exceptional range that does not include caffeine as it is herbal infusion/tisane and does not originate from the Camellia Sinensis (the plant Sri Lanka and home of Dilmah is so famous for).

Where you see teas such as Berry Sensation for example, it is a berry flavoured black tea. Flavoured teas are a classic style of tea throughout history with well known teas such as Earl Grey being black tea flavoured with Bergamot Orange.

Tea originating from the Camellia Sinensis and flavoured with fruit flavours or floral elements have the added advantage of maintaining all the healthbenefits Green Tea & Black Tea are so famous for such as natural Antioxidants. Fruit infusions made of freeze dried fruit alone are nearly always flavoured to give the actual fruit flavour but do not give the Antioxidant properties of flavoured black or green teas. However they do give a fun caffeine free alternative.
