after a dog bites you, wash the wound and bandage it. if its really bad, then go to the doctor.
Go to the emergency room. Get checked immediately. Find out if the dog had its immunization against rabies. Get treatment.
You should go see a doctor as soon as possible. As most of us know some dogs may have rabies which is a type of disease that can be passed on through the blood. Most domesticated dogs wont have rabies if they have had their vaccinations. But even if you are sure the dog has had vaccinations it is highly recommended that you check with a doctor as rabies can be quite harmful.
If a dog bites you first you must clean the wound. Next put healing cream on the wound. You then wrap it tightly with a cloth. Finally ask your Doctor if the dog had rabies, if it is infected, etc.....
If it broke the skin start by cleaning and disinfecting the area. If it was a wild dog or you live in an area where innoculations for pets is not a legal requirement you should consider going to your local hospital for a rabies booster. If it did not break the skin you are at much lower risk, but the area should still be disinfected.
pawpaws:
Depends on how bad it is. I have been bitten and never went to the hospital. They were just punctures. However, if the puncture is large you might need stitches. Make sure you clean it out with soap and water. Then apply rubbing alcohol to rid any infection and also apply a triple anti-biotic. Keep they area clean, use band-aids and also let the air dry it out from time to time.
if you have been bitten by a dog go to the hospital even if it has only punctured the scin a little then you might get a tetnis to beat any infection it might of gave you
you say aaaww and go inside and put some rubbing alcohol on it. It really helps!
After being bitten by a dog the first thing to do is to stop the bleeding. After that you need to wash the area with soap and water. Finally putting on an antibiotic will prevent infection.
Minor dog bites can be treated at home. The American Academy of Family Physicians recommends gently washing the wound with soap and water and then applying pressure to the injured area with a clean towel.
It depends on how big of a wound and where it is. For a general skin-broken bite, clean the wound thoroughly with soap and warm water and apply a dry sterile dressing. If is a very large wound, or on the face, go to your emergency department immediately, applying pressure to the wound with a clean towel. If the dog is unknown or the dog hasn't had vaccinations, it is recommended to go to your doctor for rabies testing/tetanus shots.
Take them to a doctor!
I agree, take them to a doctor, better yet the ER! What no antiseptic, just soap and water! Unbelievable!
To treat a cat's mosquito bite, clean the area with mild soap and water, apply a cold compress to reduce swelling, and monitor for any signs of infection. If the bite worsens or your cat shows signs of discomfort, consult a veterinarian for further treatment.
A cat bite on a dog is treated by a vet according to the severity of the bite. The dog could only require the wound to be cleaned. The vet may prescribe antibiotics as a precaution to prevent any related illnesses that may occur. Normally a dog would not require stitches from a cat bite. The vet would determine the medical needs of the dog.
Not unless the dog had rabies or the bite was to a fatal spot, such as the neck. Also be aware that a dog bite to a cat can cause an internal infection. The bite may not fester or abcess on the skin, but the infection could become systemic internally. I know this as my beloved cat died this morning after being diagnosed by a veterinarian that a healed bite punctured her lung and introduced bacteria. If your cat loses weight, is not as playful, and more lethargic following a dog bite--even weeks after the fact, there may be an internal infection that is deadly without early treatment.
well, cats have eaten many different things that cause their teeth to be unclean. Therefore, you should only wash the bite with soap and warm water to prevent the bite from getting infected.
