I'm going through that myself, bottom line, according to my ob/gyn it all depends on when your body stops having enough progesterone to keep your period from happening. Then it would be 3-4 weeks after you started a pack of pills regularly again.

Probably. If you miss any active pills in the last week of a packet, it is recommended you skip the placebo pills and go straight to your next packet of active pills. This can cause you to skip your period, so it would possibly cause your period to stop.

If you are taking a progestin only mini-pill - break through bleeding or menstruating can be a sign you are also ovulating and should be reported to your health care provider.

Break through bleeding can be a common side effect in the first 3 to 6 months of using oral contraceptives. If you continue to have spotting or early period type bleeding after 6 months of use, you should speak with your health care provider about finding another pill that does not have this side effect.

It depends on your body. I always have some spotting when I skip the sugar pills.

Nothing special happens, other than, perhaps, rescheduling your period. There's no increased risk of pregnancy. Just remember never to go more than seven days without taking an active pill.

If you get your period early on in the cycle should you skip right to the sugar pills?

Hi, No never skip to sugar pills when this happens or it will throw your cycle off completely. Continue to take the pills as prescribed. So take the active pills and then the sugar pills when it is time.

Can you stop your period by taking active pills right away?

Some women can skip a period by starting the next pack of pills early, shortening or eliminating the pill free week. Other women may have unscheduled bleeding or spotting as a result. There is no increased risk of pregnancy from doing so.

If I skip the sugar pills and go right into a new pack of birth control pills will this affect my pap smear results?

No, skipping your period with sugar pills has no effect on Pap smear results.

Can you take placebo pills early to get your period earlier?

I'm wondering the same thing. My doctor suggested skipping the placebo week and starting into a new pack but that there might be spotting and it could throw off your cycle for the next three months. This would still be a better option than taking the sugar pills early because your period wouldn't start right away anyway and it might still carry on into the next week.

Could you start your period early if you don't take birth control on right days?

Yes, sometimes missing pills will lead to unexpected spotting. Continue to take your pills as scheduled, and use a backup birth control method, like condoms or abstinence from vaginal sex, for seven days.

When on birth control when you finish the blue pills and start the white are those the ones that cause your period?

The blue ones are faux pills and not taking the white ones is what starts your period. They are hormones and they tell your body not to have a period. The blue ones just keep you on track so you can have the right number of days before you start your new cycle of pills.

What happens if you took your birth control backwords?

the pills you take when your having your piriod have nothing in them they are just sugar pills so if this did happen. you should keep taking your pills assigned for when you are off your period when your period starts stop taking them for 7 days and then start a new pack the right way. the only difference from starting backwards is that the first week did nothing for you and you were not protected from getting pregnant. a better option would probibly be to stop having sex and taking your pills wait until your next period and start the right way.
