hallucinations
Depending on the substance, some hallucinogens (those that are not illegal) are legal for any age, though vendors may place their own age restrictions on the minimum age of customers. Hallucinogens that are illegal (scheduled) are illegal for any age, except in special circumstances (approved research studies, for example).

Some have limited application in medicine and research. All Tryptamine Hallucinogens were made illegal along with LSD some time during the 60s.
Honestly, there really aren't medical uses for hallucinogens. Psilocybin Mushrooms (Magic Mushrooms, 'Shrooms' etc.) used to be use to treat chronic cluster headaches, OCD, and even depression, but that stopped because the mushrooms have severe side effects. LSD was used for similar reasons, and PCP was actually used as an anesthetic during surgeries in World War II. Again though, both of the drugs had side effects that outweighed their benefits, so they were discontinued.
Legally, there is currently no acceptable medical use for hallucinogens. Hallucinogens though have a long history of being used by tribal shamans and curanderos around the world to cure people by taking them on trips to meet the reason of their sickness, and confront it. They offer a metaphysical healing for a physical disease. Science can't accept that yet though. Hallucinogens are still a mystery to humanity.
