The combination of 40mg of Prozac (fluoxetine) and 200mg of Depakote (valproate) can be safe for some individuals, but it depends on various factors including your overall health, other medications you may be taking, and how your body responds to these drugs. It's essential to follow your healthcare provider's recommendations and report any side effects or concerns. Always consult with your doctor before making any changes to your medication regimen.
Yes, taking Prozac (fluoxetine) with Depakote (valproate) can potentially lead to irregular periods. Both medications can influence hormonal balance and menstrual cycles in some individuals. It's essential to discuss any changes in your menstrual pattern with a healthcare provider, as they can help determine if the medications or other factors are contributing to this issue.

The majority of paych. Meds. Have caused major sexual side effects. Now have Rx for depakote. Are there sexual side effects with this medication ?
Depakote has the tendency to slow or stabilize neurologic brain activity.
There are no known dangers as of yet with taking PROZAC(brand name) [Fluoxetine hydrochloride- generic name] and DEPAKOTE(brand name) [Divalproex sodium-generic name] at the same time. The following list of drugs CAN be taken with either med, BUT use caution and ALWAYS check with your DOCTOR:: Coumadin, Oral contraceptives ("THE PILL"), Tegretol, Klonopin, Dilantin, Valium, Halcion(sleeping pill), or Haldol. Ask your pharmacist for a computer printout on both Prozac and Depakote; they contain LOTS of information. ALSO:: I saw a suggested link to "WIKIPEDIA.ORG". Instead, for more specific medication information go to WebMd.com or MEDSCAPE.com Hope this helps!
No, depakote is not addictive and produces no effects that would make it attractive to drug abusers.
Combining Prozac (fluoxetine) with alcohol can increase the risk of side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired judgment. Alcohol may also diminish the effectiveness of the medication, potentially worsening depression and anxiety symptoms. Additionally, both substances can strain the liver, leading to further health complications. It's important to consult a healthcare provider about the safe use of alcohol while taking Prozac.
I don't recommend it, I did so, and experienced self-induced seizures. You can take Depakote with Tramadol as long as you don't exceed more than 3 a day. I am on both meds and the pharamists told me that and I have lived by it, and I have not had seizures but then again I am taking Depakote for BiPolar Disorder not epilepsy.
Yes Ritalin and Prozac (fluoxetine) work in very different ways and are able to be taken together, I take both of them to help with both ADHD and depression and there are no side effects from taking them both simultaniously.
