Hi, I am coming off Risperdal after 3 months. Withdrawal symptoms seems to be slight insomnia, extreme irritability. As this is the 6th day, I'd say it is going to be some time. I'll let you know. In turns of insomnia, I took long walks in the regional parks and slept like a baby for 7 hours. It also helps if you are on a healthy diet and learn to relax and be happy. Good luck in whatever you are trying to do.
As a rule of thumb, drug withdrawal precipitates extremes of whatever the drug was meant to help in the first place. (Rebound effect) Symptoms of Seroquel withdrawal include nausea, insomnia, or symptoms of schizophrenia or manic depression. Withdrawal should be closely monitored by a physician, who can prescribe temporary medication to help alleviate the withdrawal syndrome.
Yes, headaches can be a common withdrawal symptom when coming off Depakote (valproate), as the body adjusts to the absence of the medication. Depakote affects neurotransmitter levels in the brain, and sudden discontinuation may lead to fluctuations that trigger headaches. It's important to consult a healthcare provider before stopping the medication to manage withdrawal symptoms safely.

generally you do feel some sort of withdrawl symptoms when you are coming off narcotics - however with help from your GP or other medical professionals - you will be able to cope with one symtom at a time. I have been living on narcotics for four years now (will my GP's help) due to a chronic pain disease and when we change over different medicines -all has to be done slowly or my sight becomes effected and I become very sick with withdrawal symptoms. I recommend never doing it cold turkey because it may send your body into shock.
Coming off olanzapine can lead to a range of feelings and symptoms, including potential withdrawal effects like anxiety, insomnia, or mood swings. Some individuals may also experience a return of the symptoms for which they were initially prescribed the medication, such as psychosis or agitation. It's important to taper off under medical supervision to manage these effects safely. Everyone's experience can vary, so it's essential to communicate with a healthcare provider during this process.
If you are talking about withdrawal symptoms from a narcotic drug (oxycontin, MS contin, oxynorm, endone, etc) then symptoms will last 4 or 5 days. They will include shivers, sweats, headaches, diarrhoea, shakes, jitters and generally just not being able to function. I was on high doses of oxynorm (an immediate acting narcotic tablet for debilitating osteoarthritis) and I have had two episodes of withdrawals...it occurs if I take high doseages, and then go off them suddenly. You do feel awful, but it will get better. Now I tend to take my pain relief every couple of days, if I can, with sometimes a four day period of no pain relief. I don't take them regularly anymore, and this tends to reduce the withdrawal symptoms.
The symptoms vary depending on which part of the spine is affected. If it is the cervical spine, some symptoms are pain coming and going, neck or shoulder stiffness, and headaches.
