You can drink beer when Percocet is in your system, but like any alcohol / painkiller interactions, alcohol will tend to increase the depressant side effects of the drug, so depending on how tolerant you are to the drug and how much the side effects affect you (say that ten times real fast), you need to be very careful about how much alcohol you drink.

For people who don't have much experience using Percocet or any other opiate, it's better to avoid alcohol altogether. Size and weight is a big factor also, as someone of larger size won't normally be affected as much. You really need to be opiate tolerant to be able to consume any alcohol while taking the drug. That's because for those of us who have used it in large quantities for many years, the opiate tolerance actually helps to withstand any side effects from drinking. Still, I don't drink that much, and I use a lot of Percocet at its highest dose (120/150 per month).

Drinking a day after will certainly give you a better margin as the drug pretty much is out of your system within 24-48 hours, depending of course on how much you take and what the dose is. For someone like me, it can stay in the body for quite some time.
