During the first two months of having the Mirena IUD, you may experience irregular bleeding or spotting as your body adjusts to the device. Some individuals also report cramping or discomfort, particularly shortly after insertion. Hormonal side effects, such as mood changes or breast tenderness, can occur but typically subside over time. It's important to follow up with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns or severe symptoms.
First. Expect another 5 months.
Spotting with Mirena stops within a few months. There is no special trick to make it stop.
Most women with Mirena experience lack of periods, but not all do. See your health care provider to rule out any other cause of bleeding, such as partial expulsion or infection.
Yes, some individuals may experience tender breasts after having the Mirena IUD for six months. Hormonal changes caused by the device can lead to breast tenderness as a side effect. However, experiences can vary widely among users, and if the tenderness is severe or concerning, it's advisable to consult a healthcare provider for further evaluation.
Go see your OB/GYN doctor at once. We can't tell from here, and it is not normal.
It's possible to get pregnant on Mirena, but rare. Your pregnancy tests are negative. Absent periods are a normal side effect of Mirena.
I am sorry to hear that you are having a bad time with the Mirena. I too had the Mirena and experienced the same issues as yourself over an 8 month period. It turned out that I had several oversized Fibroids and the Mirena did not help with the stemming of heavy bleeding. I had my Mirena removed and subsequently the Fibroids - best thing I ever did. I know they say it can work instantly or may take a couple of months, but it depends on how long you want to continue with things they way they are. Good luck with which ever dicision you make.
maybe.... maybe xD (anything is possible)
I am having the same thing. It has been 5 weeks for me. I talked to the doctor and they said it can take up to 3 months to have your period return after having your IUD out.
Why haven't i gotten my period for two months? can it be do to stress? or something else? i have the mirena... for a year now....
You can get the IUD inserted anytime the health care provider can be reasonably sure you're not pregnant.
Yes, absent periods are a normal side effect of Mirena.
