Technically you can have bleeding. I found out I was pregnant went for an hcg level check got a count of 350 and started what I thought was my period or miscarriage over that weekend. My ob then had me go for a second count to make sure my numbers were lowering. They had indeed increased and I was still bleeding (like a normal period for me).

They continued to monitor me and my hcg increased to over 2000 over a 2 week period. Which is much slower then normal. I eventually had the methotrexate treatment.

So, yes, you can have what you believe to be a period and have a tubal pregnancy.
