After breaking away from Egyptian rule, Kush established itself as a powerful kingdom in Nubia, asserting its independence and cultural identity. The Kushites expanded their territory, eventually conquering Egypt and ruling as pharaohs during the 25th Dynasty. This period is marked by a revival of Egyptian culture and the construction of impressive pyramids in Nubia.
