The US and Soviet Union were never really friends, they were once allys to defeat the growing German Nazi threat, but not friends. The reason being that the Soviet Union was Communist and due to the United States' perception of communism (that it was a threat to our democratic way of living) and our fear that communism would soon out number the democratic countries of the world, we began a Cold War with them. Basically a war with no fighting, its like a staring contest, whoever blinks loses. The United States mean while supplied weapons to democratic countries and the Soviets provided weapons to communist countries. However, while this was going on the USSR was having problems in its own country and was quickly dissolved into seperate countries, and since the USSR no longer existed the US no longer had anything to fear.
Long story short because they were communist.
During WW2 we were allies.
No
No. The Soviet Union did enter World War 2 but on the other side. Germany invaded and then forced the Soviet Union into the war
It did not. In 1939 the Soviet Union had a non-agression pact with Germany which led to the invasion of Poland; a British ally. Not surprisingly, the Soviet Union was seen as a possible enemy, but there was no fighting between Britain and the Soviet Union. When Germany violated the pact and invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, Britain and the Soviet Union found themselves fighting on the same side against Germany, although they were far from the best of friends. After World War 2 they were adversaries again in the Cold War, but still they did not fight, at least not openly.
Germany and Italy were socialist governments. The Soviet Union was communist and Japan was Imperialistic.
the three major allies for germany was japan, italy and soviet union.... but soviet union went to the allied powers after hitler betrayed stalin (soviet union)
Because they were invaded by Germany.
They joined forces with Germany even though Russia (the Soviet Union) is friends with the US.
