Answer 1

This is not a trichotomy. Arab is an ethnicity, Jew is an ethno-religious marker, and Islam is a religion. Therefore a person can (in theory) be an "Arab Jew", a "Jewish Arab", an "Arab Muslim", a "Muslim Arab", or a "formerly Jewish Muslim". (Whether or not these terms are used is something else.) In terms of the Palestinians, they are exclusively Arab, ethnically and the majority are Muslim, but there are some Arab Christian Palestinians, Arab Druze Palestinians (although most Druze identify as Israelis, Lebanese, or Syrians), and Arab Bahai'i Palestinians.

Answer 2

the people of Palestine are a variety of Muslims and Christians. They used to live in harmony with the Jews under the British State (there was never a Muslim state that exclusively ruled Palestine).

As soon as the Jewish areas received independence and Statehood, discord and war broke out.

How are the Palestinians related to Jews?

Arabs (including Palestinian Arabs) are descended from Abraham just as Jews are, which is why Arabs are called "our cousins" in Jewish Torah-commentaries. But after the initial connection, Jews (Israelites) and Arabs have been distict peoples with separate languages and religions. Jews are descended from Isaac (son of Abraham), while Arabs are descended from Ishmael (son of Abraham). See Genesis ch.16, 17 and 21.

Have DNA analyses shown that Arabs and Jews have common ancestry?

The term "Arab" does not refer to an ethnically homogenous group of people. Arabs in Yemen, Arabs in Egypt, and Arabs in Morocco, for example, have very different genetic makeup. Jews have strong genetic similarity to Arabs of the Levant, especially Palestinians and Jordanians and a more distant similarity to Arabs of Mesopotamia.

Do the Jews fight with the Sunnis or Shiites?

Jews (as a group) do not fight with Muslims (as a group). There is certainly the Israeli-Palestinian and Arab-Israeli Conflict where a majority-Jewish army faces off against primarily majority-Sunni Arabs. However, the conflict is a nationalistic conflict where religion is only an ethnic-marker. Most Israelis are Jews and most Palestinians and Levantine Arabs are Sunni Muslims. However, Israel has also fought against Hezbollah and performed subterfuge against Iran which are both Shiite Muslim groups/countries.

What does Arab Israelis mean?

The term refers to Arabs who chose to become Israeli citizens after Israel became a nation (again) in 1948. Arabs and Jews comprise the two largest ethnic groups in Israel (Jews obviously make up a larger percentage of the population). Note that they are not Palestinians. Arabs in Israel have full rights that Jews have.
