Well, Indians live in India, in a different timezone, hemisphere, climate, and geographic location, etc. than the Mayans of present-day Guatemala(a Central American nation bordering Mexico, Belize, El Salvador, and Honduras). The Mayans are very much alive today, although their empire was broken down by Spanish conquistadors in the 1500s. Their descendants live on as mainly small shop-owners and merchants selling things. They still speak their own languages and many can still write in them. And no, Mayan is NOT a language. There are MANY Mayan languages. Also, if when you read "Spanish" you think of a Mexican man with a sombrero and mustache with a guitar and a big tan, it was not always that way. These people are the products of Spanish soldiers having babies with Native American(both North and South) women. People in Spain are different than the stereotypical Spanish person many people would think of today.
