Some say he could have rescued the Alamo defenders, his Texan army certainly had little trouble defeating the Mexican shortly afterwards, but he wanted a massacre of Americans to whip up public opinion in the states, so he allowed the Alamo defenders to die. Basicly, the USA used its military power to steal 50% of mexicos sovereign territory, are still in occupation of it and are still complaining about how many Mexicans live there LOL.
