Can? Best answer is, perhaps. Did they? By no means. Keep in mind that the US and several other UN countries did fight a war with North Korea, from June 1950 to July 1953, and that only to a stalemate. The Korean War technically never ended. Fighting on the peninsula ended in an Armistice that was signed in the city of P'anmunjôm 27 July 1953. But, the war itself goes on.

It must be remembered that although the UN forces were stalemated there, the fact is that China came in on the side of North Korea, with over one million soldiers, and with military aid from the Soviet Union.
If the United States were to fight North Korea in a one on one war, it seems doubtful North Korea would have any chance at all against the world's strongest military.
your question does not make sense?
The US is not permitted to patrol North Korea, nor do they. The US military does however have military bases in south Korea as part of a treaty to protect them against a possible attack by North Korea.
500,000 people serve in north korea's military
Because North Korea was on the verge of defeat and China did not want western military forces near her border...
No South Korea didn't envade North Korea. South and North splid up because of the alliance between North America and Russia was not good. North Korea is the one who attacks first all the time. We never started first. North Korea's ruler does not feed his citizens he uses the money for nuclear explosions.
North Korea:)

Military jobs or farming. North Korea believe that to be a strong and powerful country you need to have a powerful and strong military.
North Korea will be strong and insistent while South Korea will be near to defeat until the rest of world hurries to help it.
North Korea is a communist nation that wants USA out of the peninsula, so they build up on the military. Also, South Korea depends on the USA for funding their military.

Mostly in military and mining
Absolutley there barely is even an economy North Korea mostly focus all their money to the military
the United Nations forces, which protected South Korea from an invasion by North Korea.
