The irrigation method that the ancient Egyptians used is Egyptian people dug canals. They did this because they used to live in the dessert and did not get much rain. They lived a couple miles away from the Nile River and in stead of bringing bowls made out of clay to go get water they dug canals in the ground so that the water would be right by there crops. This was a great invention and also helped to get drinking water faster. This is how you can describe the irrigation methods used by the ancient Egyptians.
