Did America help with the battle of Britain in World War 2?

The USA entered WW2 and if they hadn't everyone in Europe may have been speaking German now. By the USA entering WW2 they enabled the Russians to push Hitler into a Bunker in Berlin where he killed himself. Europe had been trying to defeat Hitler and the Nazi's since September 1939. The USA came into the war in December 1941 and by doing so considerable shortened the war and it is probably unlikely that Britain and the rest of Europe could have done it on their own .

It is completely unfair not to mention the Russians too. By occupying many of Hitlers forces on the Eastern Front, the Russians incredible fighting and huge losses, enabled the Americans and the allies including the British, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders, Free French and others to land on D-Day with less losses than they would have otherwise had.

However, it is fair to say, that others helped save the UK in WW2.

Certainly. Fifty Destroyers were donated to the Royal Navy. Lend-Lease sent thousands of tons of war material ranging from aircraft to munitions and there were even cooperative squadrons such as the Eagle Squadron(USAF men attached to the Royal Air Force-all volunteers, not a regular assignement-. Most lend-lease material was channeled to Britain, though the USSR got alot of equipment, various metals, building material, industrial infrastructure, machine tools such as lathes, Railroad equipment (all built to the Russian Five Foot Gauge) and construction equipment ranging from road graders to pile drivers and heavy cranes. British lend lease was more oriented to direct War needs such as aircraft, radio apparatus(Mostly RCA88) and military supplies.

Further to the answer to the question was the declaration of war against Germany that sent hundreds of thousands of troops to land forces in North Africa and of course the D-Day invasion of Normandy.

It's hard to say for sure.

Britain on it's own could never have invaded mainland Europe and liberated it. Also the American Government had enacted a Lend-Lease law with the British in which they provided Military equipment to the British which dramatically improved their ability to fight.

As the RAF defeated the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain in 1940 the threat of an invasion to Britain had all but subsided and Hitler turned his attention to Russia (Which was always his plan anyway.)

To summarize. Without America, Britain may or may not have been invaded or capitulated losing the war. But certainly without America, Britain would not have won the war.
