To try and keep South Vietnam from falling to the Communists, and because the government of South Vietnam was too corrupt and incompetent to defend themselves. The government of South Vietnam was never able to defend themselves, and President Gerald R. Ford finally gave up on them in 1975. They soon fell to communist North Vietnam.
The USA, under President Gerald R. Ford, finally gave up on the incompetent and corrupt government of South Vietnam in 1975, and North Vietnam quickly and easily defeated South Vietnam in a few months.
Nguyễn Cao Ky was Prime Minister until the fall of Saigon. He left the country and settled in Venice, California, where he ran a chain of liquor stores. KY and President Nguyễn Văn Thiệu worked hand in hand through a series of intrigues to maintain control of South Vietnam, winning American backing. They were both a couple of cowboys. Nguyễn Văn Thiệu was evacuated by U.S. helicopter in 1975 with millions in gold. He settled in Massachusetts, where he died in 2001. He was always a marked man. Many Vietnamese ex-patriots blamed his corrupt leadership for the downfall of their country. Nobody replaced them, as South Vietnam ceased to be.
Ngo Dinh Diem
He tried to sell them off for a fraction of their original price, though this meant that many of Russia's most valuable resources fell into the hands of the corrupt 'oligarches', who crippled the countries economy for personal gain
What is the name of the president of Vietnam?
To try and keep South Vietnam from falling to the Communists, and because the government of South Vietnam was too corrupt and incompetent to defend themselves. The USA should have given up on the corrupt and incompetent government of South Vietnam when President John F. Kennedy and/or Lyndon B. Johnson was in office in 1963/1964/ or after LBJ was elected President in November 1964. Unfortunately the USA, (and our allies), spent hundreds of thousands of lives and untold amount of resources trying to defend South Vietnam between 1963 and 1975. In 1973 President Richard M. Nixon pulled the USA out of the hopeless nation, and in 1975 President Gerald R. Ford Finally gave up on South Vietnam, which was Never Able to Defend itself, In spite of all that was done to try and keep it independent. South Vietnam was a mess and there was Nothing that we could do to save it from North Vietnamese conquest.
That he is corrupt and a islam.
If the President is impeached AND found guilty by Congress, the Vice-President becomes President. IF the then-President (former Vice-President) is Impeached AND found guilty by Congress, the Speaker of the House becomes President.... Note that just impeaching and charging ALL of those 3 could take a President's entire term (4 years). This is why it's important to Vote and to Vote Wisely.
Kennedy's unhappiness with the corrupt Diem regime in South Vietnam led to his tacit approval of a coup to overthrow Diem in 1963. However, the coup resulted in political instability and ultimately contributed to the escalation of the Vietnam War.
yes, because if you have a corrupt president in office then they will do what is best for themselves and not for the country
He was corrupt
Corrupt staff members
Warren Harding probably had the most corrupt cabinet,.
That would be President Richard Nixon, 1969 to 1973, who tried and failed to get the South Vietnamese to take over the fighting in South Vietnam from the Allied nations fighting there, especially the USA. In 1975, North Vietnam launched a 55 day invasion of South Vietnam and defeated the corrupt and incompetent nation that could never stand on it's own two feet. President Gerald Ford gave up on South Vietnam, feeling that the USA had done more than enough to try and keep the country free and independent.
no one is perfect.. all president committed corruption, its just the question of intensity of how they corrupt......
