The Maya shared their technology with other Mayan groups when it came to agriculture and other sciences such as dentistry and architecture (buildings, bridges), astronomy, religion and medicine. They were also good business traders, having built sophisticated roadways over long distances buying and selling and doing other commerce. This is known to be true because of the "money" they used-chocolate! There are many times, however, when the records show one Mayan group or city fighting with another over resources; small kingdoms throughout the Yucatan were competing with one another for power and control over all city/states (much like early Greece!). The Maya that lived near volcanic outcroppings of Obsidian were usually among the winners of these contests, for they bore weapons made of volcanic glass sporting an edge sharper than that of today's surgical steel! -InThree21
