The Middle Ages lasted from the 5th century to the 15th century. During most of this period, there were no cannons. Cannons were introduced to Europe during the High Middle Ages, probably about the middle of the 13th century. They were used at the Battle of Crecy, and elsewhere, during the Late Middle Ages.

If you mean artillery guns, the first gunpowder cannons appeared in Italy and France around 1326 (they are mentioned in an ordinance from Florence). These seem to have been made of copper or brass and could fire either iron balls or very large arrows. Cannon are shown in manuscripts of that time, shaped like a vase set on its side on a wooden trestle - the Italian and French terms vasi and pots-de-fer were used to describe them, since "artillery" could mean other types of siege weapons that did not use gunpowder.

By 1370, cannon were being made from strips of iron sheet forged into tubes, with iron hoops heat-shrunk to reinforce them. This method could lead to the gun exploding and cannon were almost as dangerous to their own gunners as to the target. They were very slow to load, miserably inaccurate and the gunners were vulnerable to enemy arrows and crossbows - so protective wooden shutters and fences had to be constructed around each one.

An interesting point worth mentioning is that in Venice, Italy, the word ghetto meant an iron foundry where artillery guns were produced. Later, a derelict and unused ghetto on a small island was used to house the city's Jewish population (not any kind of persecution - the Venetians were providing land as an act of kindness for homeless Jews, something that was near impossible in Venice due to overcrowding in most parts of the city). The name eventually changed its meaning to any area set aside for Jews.

In the medieval times the cannons were at the castles. But not just any castle kings and queens and nobles and popes and all that good stuff. But what I'm trying to say is Kings and Queens castle. Why because they were the highest level and had the most trust. They used it for invaders and the cannons would go as far as you need it.

No. That was left to the peasant foot solider. Knights were mainly on horse. Imagine trying to move around a great deal with armour on. It was hard enough to get them on the horse.
