The USS. Texas BB - 35 was Decommissioned April 21, 1948 & given to the State of Texas, she is now a museum , when a war ship is turned into a museum it is permanently disabled , the props were removed , the prop shafts were removed, & the prop housing was welded shut , if those things were replaced she would run with the largest engines afloat
