The total amount of soldiers enlisting in to the military since the beginning of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have actually increased. Just because of the wars it has not turned people away from enlisting, with the so called fall of the economy people are looking for that "guaranteed" job and pay check. In reality the numbers have increased so much the each branch has placed more restrictions on enlistment like but not limited to:
No major law violations (ie.. DUI, Possession, Theft etc..)
Have to be a High School Senior or Graduate (proof of successful completion)
Have a GED with 15 college credits or more (accredited school/college)
Meet Height and Weight requirements (varies by branch)
Pass the ASVAB (varies by branch Army/Marines 31 or higher, Navy/Air Force 50 or higher)
Do your research prior and contact a local recruiter.
