Although there is undoubtedly still some racial discrimination in the United States, I would say that African-Americans have very substantially secured their rights. The recent election of an African-American President, Barack Obama, is one of the clearest indications of this. Even the highest office in the country is open to African-Americans.

This is an in between question. On one side you do have those that have worked hard to get where they are at. On the other side, you have those that play the "Race- Card" that puts them in that spot they want to be in. Those are the ones that are telling people to feel sorry for them because of their family's past. Heck, Obama did it. If you weren't going to vote for him, you were racist.
