They both believe God is the one true God and the Christians use the same scriptures as the Hebrews except the Christians also have what is called a New Testament which tells about Jesus and the start of the Christian Church and the Gospel message. Christians believe Jesus is the Messiah whereas the Hebrew people do not believe Jesus is the Messiah. There are Hebrew people who do believe Jesus is the Messiah.
Both meet and worship God and they live what they believe.
ANSWER
I agree with the above, but it is missing something. Jesus was born a Jewish person. He observed the Sabbath and other Jewish traitions. But the Jews did not like his ideas so they crucified him. After years the apostles were walking through Antioch and the people said they were Christ-like and that when they were being called Christians. So Jesus inspired a religion and because Christ was of Jewish origin Christianity is based on Judaism.
With Judaism the wager for sin is death. Christians can obtain repentance and achieve salvation.
Jewish AnswerOn a religious basis, Christians and Jews have almost nothing in common. The only commonality is that the Christian Old Testament was based on the Jewish Bible, the Tanach.
Judaism teaches that all men are born good and innocent and that faith is meaningless without action. The Christian concept of 'sin' doesn't exist in Judaism. If we act against HaShem or another person, we have to seek the forgiveness of the wounded party and resolve to not repeat our negative actions.
This isn't a question and therefore has no answer. I don't know if what you want for an answer is God, Judaism, the Holocaust, or any other significant event or figure in any way related to jewish history.
i guess 'cause they were given from God to moses to the people of israel. don't know about christians though...
Jewish people belong to the Judaism, so they believe (most of them) in the Jewish stories and bible; but every Jewish man has his own story, so we can't say every Jew has the same history of the Judaism.
The Romans would require sacrifices to their pagan gods by their citizens. If a citizen refused, then it was assumed that the person was a Christian, or possibly Jewish.
The Jewish religion originated in the Middle East. From the Middle Eastern area Jewish peoples spread out all over the European land mass. Jewish people ended up all over Italy even before the start of the Roman Rebublic. Also, many Jewish people ended up in Italy because during the Holy Roman Empire christians were forbidden to do banking and many Jewish people saw this as an oppurtunity to earn money and prosper, and so ventured to Italy.
The majority of people who refer to themselves as "Jewish Christians" have zero Jewish heritage, they are mainly Christians.
Most Christians. People who are not Christians have other traditions.
AnswerSometimes people are described by what they are not, an arguably insulting practice but also sometimes a convenient one. 'Non-Christians' are people who are not Christians, whether because they are Jewish, Muslim, Hindu or atheist, and so on. In the same way, 'non-Muslims' would include Christians and others.
There are no Jewish Christians.
No. While Christianity is a religion that is derivative of Judaism, the overwhelming majority of Christians have no Jewish blood in them. Christians consider themselves to be "spiritually grafted" into the bloodline of Abraham.
Jews worship the same God as Christians and Muslims.
Hannakuh, the Jewish Festival of Lights is celebrated around the same time Christians celebrate Christmas.
Generally speaking gentiles are people that are not Jewish. However that is with the exception of some Jews that are also Christians. Normally, in the New Testament at least, the contrast is made between Jews (God's chosen people) and Gentiles (Non-Jews). Most Christians are in fact Gentiles at the same time, so the two groups are not exclusive. The same would apply to Jewish Christians. Of course it must not be forgotten that many Gentiles are also not Christian and so there would be a difference in terms of them accepting or not accepting Jesus Christ.
Because they worship the same God.
Because they worship the same God.
Jewish people worship the same god as Christians do. Jews believe that the Messiah has not come to Earth yet; Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah; and Muslims believe Mohammad is the prophet of Alah but was not a holy being. The Muslim understanding of Mohammad would be paralle to the Jewish view Jesus.
The first Christians were Jewish.
