How bad was the Ku Klux Klan?

the ku klux klan was a really racist group of sick minded people.

There is actually a song about them that goes to the tune of Iron Man describing just how they went about things and how they thought about themselves and what they were like. Its quite racist, and im not racist but my friend kept singing this song and it got stuck in my head, but it really describes quite well what they were like:

I am grand wizard man,

Born leader of the Ku Klux Klan,

I wear pointy hats,

Killing f r i e k i n g n i g g e r s with Baseball bats.

Infact the Ku Klux Klan are still around in parts of America today and they will still kill black people if they can get away with it but there arent many left today, especially compared to the numbers that used to make up the KKK.
