The war in Iraq can have a big impact on a community. Especially when there are people in your community that are antiwar and completely against everything our troops are helping do. There are many that fully support the soldiers and all that they do. Despite what some people think our soldiers are not there because they like killing people, they have helped rebuild a country and when I think that can tear a community apart when there are some out protesting against the solders that are helping defend our freedoms and rights so that you can stand out there and protest.

For the causes, see the Related Question. For the effects, the War was basically a stalemate which meant that both sides returned to the pre-war status quo (although quite economically and humanly worse). Islamic Government did not expand into the Middle East until the Arab Spring. Iraq did not acquire Khuzestan.

Death, that's what effects it has on the U.S
The effects of the Iran-Iraq War of 1980-1988 is that it led to a decline in the economic growth in the region. It also led to displacement of people from their home and also led to the death of very many people.
The US was waging war against the nation of NORTH VIETNAM. The US is "not" waging war against the country of Iraq. The US is trying to establish law, order, and stability to the region.
the Iraq war may have not made any positive effects on OUR economy, but you should see the amazing strides we have helped the Iraqi people make. and we can only hope that in the future all of our hard work over there will pay off. :)

The people involved in the war in Iraq are the US, Iraq and the UK.
The borders of Iraq reverted to antebellum borders. That is to say that Iraq's borders returned to the way they were before any war began. Iraq had the same borders in 1992 as it did 1989. (The Persian Gulf War was from 1990, when Iraq invaded Kuwait, to 1991, when the UN Coalition evicted Iraq from Kuwait.)
There was a war that began in Iraq in 1980, but the war began with an invasion of Iran, not Iraq. That war is the Iran-Iraq War and lasted from 1980-1988.
Yes, Iraq was at war with Iran from 1980 to 1988. This was called the Iran-Iraq war.
The war in Iraq is called this because the war is within Iraq, its not with any other country. Iraq is having civil wars. Iraq can not stabilize their government or economy.
