Opened up a whole new world by proving that the world was not flat and finding new lands and people to exploit.
the conclusion that Vespucci had formed about the lands that he, Columbus, and Cabato had reached is that the land he, Columbus, and cabato had reached was not Asia. The land that they had found had to be another Continent.....the "new world" that some Europeans thought might be there.
Once the Europeans had settled themselves, in a manner of speaking, they saw the vast lands they controlled as areas for farming. These were lands that were "fresh" lands as compared to European farmlands and had a vast potential for expanding westward. In other areas of the New World, Europeans saw the potential of mineral deposits, gold and silver as examples.
The Native American tribes had very little influence on the Europeans. The Europeans invaded North America and considered the people they found uncivilized. Had the Native American tribes influenced the Europeans today we would not have the environmental pollution or be fighting to stop an oil pipeline. The people believed that man was the caretaker of land and not owners. They farmed the forests and only used what they needed. In contrast the Europeans saw miles and miles of forests and lands that they believed was open and free because there was no king or fences to own the land. They also practiced environmental terrorism by bringing plants, animals, and insects not native to North American. Not only did the Europeans steal the ancestral lands of the Native Americans, but they discriminated, starved them, killed them, gave them diseases, and kill off their food sources. Too bad the Native Americans didn't have any influence we would be living in a different world.
People came to America for many reasons, some came for religious persecution and others came because they were searching for money and fame. People who came to America were generally those who didn't live particularly well in Europe and were looking for a new start in the New World
Europeans approached the lands and peoples they discovered as new possessions they had gained. In this view the riches of the land, along with its people belonged to them by right of conquest.

The Treaty of Tordesillas revealed that Europeans believed they had the right to divide and control non-European lands and people without their consent. It reflected the attitude of superiority and entitlement that Europeans held towards other regions of the world during the Age of Exploration.

Exploration by Europeans had a significant impact on indigenous peoples, leading to colonization, displacement, and the spread of diseases that decimated populations. Indigenous cultures were often disrupted or destroyed, and native peoples were subjected to violence, exploitation, and forced assimilation into European ways of life.
