The industrial revolution was when people started using machines to do work for us. It started with the printing press and moved on to all sorts of things like trains, automobiles, steamships, type writers...etc The biggest change was it drastically expanded people's lives. Now literature could be accessed by anyone thanks to mass printing. People could read the news, and supplies could be shipped much farther away more conveniently. People became able to commute to work, so that developed into urbanization. Farms needed less hand work thanks to machines. People in the city could move into suburbs. Hmmm...I don't know just think of the effects automated machines have had on your life. Now you can visit your family not only in another town but even across the globe. Industrial revolution also created a huge poverty gap and created urban ghettos, btw. Source: College American History and Michigan history courses, I live in Detroit,
Life changed a lot for people after the industrial revolution. People changed by finding jobs and working and making money.

The definition of a revolution is a "fast" change or overturn in power or the way something is done. This can happen both politically or with force. In short, it is a quick change in power or way of life. Though the industrial revolution was over all peaceful, it still technically is considered a revolution.
