well; it depends on what your talking about by "native American" if you mean like the native American people (indians): the European explorers forced them out of their lands and homes. if you mean "Native American" like the original colonies and stuff-the European Culture had GREAT effects on our early early American culture-about the time the 13 colonies were established.

The Native Americans arrived in America when the crossed the Beiring Strait in prehistoric times. The Vikings arrived prior to the other Europeans in about 1000 CE. Then the rest of Europe (Spain, France, England) arrived during the 16, 17, 18th Century CE

They have found that Native American's began to cultivate corn at least 3000 B.C. (5000 years ago), Europeans learned of this crop from the Natives c.1492+. There is no real record of how it effected the Mesoamerican cultures, and it can only be guessed that it changed their cultures like it did any other cultural group in the world.

All of the cultures were very highly developed, but please note Europeans saw them as barbaric savages because it was not the development that 'they' approved of.
