How did Jewish people cooperate with the Nazis goals?

The Nazis bullied and deceived some Jews into cooperating with their own destruction. For example, in most areas there were Nazi appointed 'Jewish councils'. They were told that they would be allowed to run their own affairs. Obviously, in the ghettos that the Nazis established in Poland and elsewhere, the propect of having Jews, rather than the SS policing the area had superficial attractions. They also thought - mistakenly - that these 'Jewish Councils' would be able to negotiate with the Nazis.

In fact, the 'Jewish Councils' had to do the Nazis' bidding - even to the point of drawing up lists of people for deportation to the extermination camps.

People helped the Jewish during WW2/ Holocaust by providing them shelter. Although, if you get caught, you would've been sent away to the concentration camp. People helped Jews by communicating to other Jews/transfer messages or news about how the war is going. They also provide the Jews with food, or rations such as Anne Frank's family.

- most Jews would voluntarily register themselves.

- they would wear the Star of David.

- ghettos would form councils to implement Nazi policy.

- they would form Jewish police.

- Nazis would not have to confront the bodies of their victims; all of the processing of the dead bodies was done by Jews.

Jewish guards who helped the Nazis were known as Kapos. They were similar to Nazis, beating, threatening, watching over the Jewish people.

The Jews that helped the Nazis in the ghettos were in the main the Jewish councils, who were in charge of the ghettos and the Jewish order police, who were the police force in the ghettos. Many others worked as labourers for the Nazis, so as to be able to eat.
