without tanks the blitzkrieg (invasion of Western Europe) would have failed because it relied on fast speed so that the enemy wouldnt have time to mobilise troops and because Germany had a small army compared to most of europe and it would have been unlikely the invasion of poland would have failed let alone Russia or france. without tanks the war would have been lost for germany within weeks.
