The Iraq War has greatly hurt the U.S. The brutal nature of the war, along with the 600,000-1,000,000 dead civilians, has nearly completely damaged the U.S' reputation around the world. It has turned many of our previously allies away from us. It has strengthened the cause of Al Quida and other terrorist organisations (U.N reports suggest there the amount of terrorist cells around the world have increased sevenfold from 2003 to 2007 as a result of the war), greatly increasing the threat for terrorist attacks at home.

It has strengthened the cause of 'rogue' nations (such as Iran). It has completely destroyed the nation of Iraq. The $3trillion cost of the war has bankrupted the U.S (a factor many prominent and leading economists have theorised as a crucial cause to the Global Financial Crisis). More importantly, it has led to the deaths of nearly 5,000 coalition troops.
